Ive driven out in these areas of the desert a lot while I was in the military. The one thing I won’t forget is the miles and miles of open empty desert out there. It’s very easy to get lost if you’re out there walking into the desert with nothing to guide you. Even if you know how to navigate by the sun. In the desert, as the sun rises in the East and rotates to the west in the evening, you have to know which way to move and adjust as the day progresses in the desert or you’ll be walking in a left handed circle endlessly and never know it. A lot of people have gone missing out there after just walking out into the empty desert. I hope they do find him okay but, it’s hard to survive out there without much knowledge of how.
