New Feature: Assign Detectives, Family contact or case advocate

We’ve added a new feature to the site, the ability to assign a detective, family contact or case advocate to a case.

When you add these users, it gives them the ability to join you in editing and updating a case page. Additionally, assigned detectives will directly get tips submitted for the case.

Can you help us add those contacts to the cases you manage?

Hi, Mr. Benzick

What do you mean by the ability to assign a detective pertaining to new feature?

The reason for me asking this specific question–is because as victim family member/advocate on behalf of my nephew Armani Dante Morgan unsolved cold case “unbeknownst” to me the assigned detectives did change without my knowledge until I requested status of Armani’s unsolved cold case and or I requested in-person meetings with jurisdictional law enforcement–which put me in a position of electronic communication with someone who was no longer assigned to Armani’s case.

Me “personally”, I wouldn’t want anyone else having the ability to edit and or update my nephew Armani’s SolveTheCase.org page–again that’s my “personal preference” simply because every family is different and every case is different. Speaking for me “personally” a murdered and or missing family member’s unsolved cold case is a deeply personal and delicate matter–especially when it involves a grieving family who has yet to obtain justice for their murdered and or missing loved one. Details and accurate information matter–not sensationalized words for clicks and likes.

Prime example – speaking from personal experience whenever a victims’ family member conducts an interview or sit-down conversation about their loved one’s unsolved case whether it be with an assigned detective, and or a case advocate, or journalist/reporter regarding victims’ unsolved cold case, or whether it be a pending interview with a podcaster regarding a potential podcast episode “editing” plays a huge part in final messages and accurate messages being relayed to the public which is where the victims’ family member’s info and messages are not always conveyed accurately to the public as intended by victims’ family yet instead the other person’s (i.e.) assigned detective/journalist/reporter/podcaster/case advocate’s message is conveyed from their personal prospective “instead” resulting in the victims’ family member’s message taking a backseat to what someone else wanted to relay to the public–again this is my personal experience.

However, I can also relate to some victims’ family members who may need, want and or require assistance with editing and updating their loved one’s case page.

Happy to hear about the new feature that can and will help victims’ families going forward.

Respectfully,

Rain03

Hello, Listing the detective assigned to a case in the STC profile allows tips to be routed to that detective in a timely fashion. If one isn’t listed, they just get routed to STC and you have to sort them out.

if in your scenario you don’t have any joint car contributors, you wouldn’t want to list any other family or advocate emails.

some families may not be good at the tech side of things so assigning an advocate contact can allow them help the page be updated.
