Does anyone know the location for the cousin’s house Marcal was leaving and where Marcal was living at the time? It would be nice to visualize them on the map.
Investigative wise, re-running the .38-caliber cartridge casings through NIBIN with an expanded region can be beneficial. Prior to 2023, only one agency of a match was notified and hits could be missed. Even though the casings might have been entered into NIBIN years ago, running them again can make the sheriff’s office the primary notification agency.
