Did she disappear with a vehicle? Lots of bodies of water near where she disappeared…this might be something Adventures With Purpose should consider if there was a vehicle involved.

Mabel May Jones Chambers left Delaware and started a new life in Massachusetts.

It looks like Mabel May Jones Chambers was b 1920 in West Virginia to Charles E and Rosa Jones per her marriage license to Ted Chambers in 1946. It also appears that there is a May Jones, daughter of Rosa Jones, who was born in 1920 in West Virginia who married a Ray Simms in 1937 (before her marriage to Ted Chambers). On the NamUs entry, Mabel Mae Chambers’ aliases are May Jones and May Simms.

The license in 1937 lists May Jones’s birth place as Bays, Nicholas, West Virginia. The 1946 marriage license to Ted Chambers lists Mabel’s place of birth as Braxton County, West Virginia, about 20 minutes away. Charles E Jones’ s marriage record shows that Rosa’s maiden name was Jackson.

There is than a Mabel May Mae OConnor who died in 1996 in Massachusetts. On the NUMIDENT for Mabel May OConnor, it lists that she was born 27 May 1920 in Bays, Nicholas, West Virginia to a Charles E Simms and a Rosa Jackson. Although Mabel’s father’s surname is listed as Simms, I believe this is the same Mabel May who disappear from Wilmington, Delaware in 1952.

NUMIDENT attached.

Mabel Mae O’Connor in Massachusetts was married to a Francis O’Connor. They had one daughter, Donna Elaine O’Connor (1953-2020). Donna’s descendants have family trees that include Mabel Mae Jones b 1920 in West Virginia as the mother of Donna O’Connor. They even have the same photos of the missing Mabel Chambers in their family tree for Mabel Jones, mother of Donna O’Connor.
