Someone stated that Leslie bares some similarities to Brielle Jane Doe…thoughts?
It has been confirmed by Leslie’s Family that she is NOT the Brielle Jane Doe.
i see so little information to go with.. i need to know for example how was her life going, family what do they say about her, did she have any old problems, drug addection, any harrasments? any x-boyfriend? any threads? did she had problems or anger issues? was her releation with her boyfriend stable? the road she takes home from her boyfriend’s place, no cameras? not one shop on the way that filmed her?
in case there where shops but she was never filmed, then maybe the boyfriend is lieing about she leaving home.
there is so little information to work on.
Unfortunately, not to much is known. There was a video from her sister on her Facebook page. I did share the profile with her sister so maybe as more comes to light we will be updated. But I suggest looking at the Facebook page it does have some information that might answer some but not all of your questions.

Was there anyone to corroborate the boyfriend’s statement that she actually left his house that night? Did he stay home the rest of the night or did any street cameras have any footage of him leaving? If so, did he offer up his cell phone records for that night and the couple of days following? Did he have a history of violence at all? Did any other women her age disappear from the area or surrounding areas that may have been connected? Did any witnesses see her that night walking? Did anyone take that same walk she took and find anything at all?
I just started reviewing this case about a week ago. I don’t know that the public has access to some of the documents described, such as phone records. My searches have been primarily in the public domain. Is there a centralized location where facts, questions and theories on this case are located? I have a few thoughts but don’t want to cover already trodden ground or put them here is not appropriate.
I might have some answers to your questions. I’d be interested in other thoughts.
- Regarding corroboration that Leslie Jo left the house, the Webpage for Leslie’s case states that “The last confirmed sighting of Leslie Grissom was on the night of July 7, 2007, when she walked away from her boyfriend’s residence in Kittrell, North Carolina.” Depending on how one wants to interpret this statement, confirmed could mean she was seen at the house or seen walking on the road. I’d like to know more about who confirmed the sighting and that person’s relationship to Leslie Jo, if any.
- Regarding a history of violence, Jake Holden Gilliam apparently has an arrest record associated with failure to appear in court. I found nothing to suggest any of the arrests were related to violence and the 3 incidents I found occurred after Leslie Jo’s disappearance. These incidents may or may not be related to her disappearance. Three news articles from the Daily Dispatch dated June 10, 2010, April 13, 2011, and Oct 31, 2012, summarize the arrest. I can only post one here.
- Regarding other witness, I am hoping this is the confirmation noted above. It would be really helpful to know who that witness is and his/her relationship, if any, to Leslie Jo.
