Were all the employees at the auto salvage questioned? And any surrounding businesses? How far away was her body from where she was last seen? Did her family know anyone that worked in that area? Were there any close family friends that were questioned? Was any dna recovered that can be processed? Did anyone act nervous/strange that the family has suspicions about?
This is a very difficult case, I have no idea who’s the person who committed this horrendous act, but I’ve been studying the murder mind and all I got from this brief explanation was that there’s a probability that this murder didn’t rape Amanda and then killed her, the murder killed her and then raped her. This killer could possibly be a necrophiliac, and it explains why this person would take Amanda’s clothes with him, so he could keep the clothes like a trophy, like something he achieved and wanted to keep forever.
I was living in Titusville at the time and remember this case. I would like to know if anyone traveling hwy 50 by the Sunshine Auto Salvage saw any vehicles pulled off the side of the road there between Aug 4 and Aug 7. There was hardly any room to pull off the road unless you parked in the entrance to the auto salvage. The killer probably dumped Amanda’s body at night and if that’s the case then the auto salvage probably had the gate/fence closed and the killer would have had to park on the shoulder or the entrance to the auto salvage. Not a lot of traffic on hwy 50 back then at night and a vehicle on the shoulder might have stood out.
